You may find two types of people around: those who shart and those who often lie about it. All this starts with an innocent will to fart but it ends up destroying a delicious lunch gathering or a beers night with friends.

Although you were not in a mood to take a dump, you were just looking for a clear coast to rip the air. But suddenly, things went wrong and the stingy smell hits everyone’s nose, including you. 


If you are unaware of the term shart: it is basically a combination of “sh*t” + “fart”. The origin of this term is actually unclear but it is observed in the Urban Dictionary right since May 2006. There is no doubt to say that shart can agitate a job interview, relationship, or dinner party. You may not need anyone to suffer in this process, but to prevent them, you need to learn the art of shart.

Common causes of shart

Scientific studies suggest that there are so many reasons behind shart. The embarrassing truth of this bodily function lies in the below-mentioned factors:

·         You are holding your poop

When you are experiencing constipation or awful stomach pain, it can turn out to be a major cause behind sharting. Some of the most common causes include holding too much stool or incomplete evacuation.

·         Digestive issues

There are a number of problems related to the digestive system that can cause an uncontrollable urge to fart. Most of the people who shart report Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome, or lactose intolerance.

·         Hemorrhoids

This disease can cause swelling in the rectum veins which further prevents proper closing of the anus. It increases the chances of pool leakage when you are just trying to pass gas.

·         Forcing a fart

Many civilized people make efforts to pass gas without any detection but this forceful action increases the odds of sharting. When the sphincter feels relaxed, it shoots out gas in a louder and faster manner.

How to handle shart?

Sharting may feel comfortable when you are at your home. If it turns out badly, you can simply toss your undergarments into the laundry box and go to the shower. But sharting in public is a real challenge and it requires a skilled response.

You cannot say excuse me to others but you can simply move to the nearest bathroom. Once you reach there, you can use toilet paper or wipes to clean your ass. If it has little poop, the spot clean-up will be fine. But if the poop has already spread into your pants, you may need to find a way to get rid of soiled underwear.

If you find yourself to be a chronic sharter, you may need to improve fiber content in your diet. It may help you to reduce leftovers in the system. Also, you should reduce intake of some notorious foods such as alcohol, coffee, and artificial sweeteners.
